How does WeatherWatch® Protect your Roof?

By Creating a barrier at the most vulnerable areas of your asphalt shingle (at the eaves and rakes, in valleys, & around chimneys, etc.), WeatherWatch® Mineral-Surfaced Leak Barrier helps prevent leaks due to water backing up in your gutters, wind-driven rain, and, in the North, damaging ice dams.  It will also help protect your home from expensive wall and ceiling staining from leaks.

• Code Compliance and Risk Reduction:  Protection against ice dams is required by most building codes² at eaves wherever the January average temperature is 25°F (-4°C) or lower or where there is a possibility of ice forming in the eaves — i.e., the area labeled “North”.  In Southern/warmer climates, leak barriers provide critical protection against wind-driven rain.

• Strong Protection:  Guards vulnerable areas of your roof including eaves and rakes, in valleys, around chimneys and skylights, and more.

• Dependable:  Self-seals around nails to help avoid leaks.

• Fiberglass-reinforced:  Helps resist buckling and wrinkling that can detract from the look of your finished roof.

• Split-back Release Film:  Peels off in layers for fast installation.

• Convenient:  Available in 1.5 square (150ft.² [13.9 m²) and 2.0 square (200 ft.² [18.58 m²]) roll size.
